The Deaf Wellbeing Society Incorporated offers fortnightly art and craft days.
Due to language barriers, many Deaf have not had the chance to experience certain art and craft techniques. We provide a varied list of craft projects with teachers who are preferably Deaf (or with trainee NZSL interpreters if the teacher is hearing). Making crafts can be relaxing, rewarding and fun. When it is set in a Deaf friendly environment it is a great opportunity to catch up with others and make it a social time too.
With the support of Freemasons Foundation we are able to have a qualified Deaf CSW present so if you have any concerns or worries or you need advice, please drop in! See our calendar for dates. If you would like to ask us a question, click here.
From time to time we offer more specialised arts and crafts and this year we are pleased to run our Striving for Zero Waste art classes and also Auckland heritage series. click here.
Cost for the class is $5 to $10 this includes morning tea.
