Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup of cornflakes
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 250 g of butter
  • 1/2 cup of sultanas (optional)

Method

  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Add melted butter.
  3. Press into greased tray and bake for 15 minutes at 175 degrees Celsius.
  4. Make 2 icings- Peppermint and Chocolate.
  5. When cake has cooled for 5 minutes ice with the peppermint icing.
  6. When the peppermint icing is set then ice with the chocolate icing.
  7. PEPPERMINT ICING
  8. 2 cups of icing sugar
  9. Knob of butter
  10. A few drops of peppermint essence
  11. Splash of boiling water
  12. CHOCOLATE ICING
  13. 2 cups of icing sugar
  14. Knob of butter
  15. 2 tablespoons of cocoa
  16. Splash of boiling water
