This recipe will make 4 rolls enough for 2 people

EQUIPMENT:

Bamboo mat

Fan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of sushi rice or medium grain rice
  • 60 ml sushi vinegar
  • 4 sheets of Yaki Nori (seaweed)
  • Fillings, for example, cucumber, red capsicum, chicken, tuna, salmon, crab meat, fried eggs and avocado

Method

  1. Cook rice with the Rice cooker OR Place the rice in a pot and wash, then drain the water. Add 2.5 cups of freshwater and put the lid on. Bring to the boil, leave about 2 mins, then turn off the heat and wait about 15 mins with the lid on.
  2. Add the sushi vinegar and mix through the rice. Cool rice and spread vinegar with the fan.
  3. Chop up the ingredients, and make a thin omelette and cut into thin strips.
  4. Put a seaweed on the bamboo mat and place rice on the seaweed, with strips of your fillings.
  5. Roll tightly using your bamboo mat. Use a sharp knife to slice your sushi roll.
  6. If you like you can add soy sauce, pickled ginger or wasabi.
  7. VARIATIONS: Have fun and play with the ingredients. There are many variations.
