Poffertjes

Serves 20

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • Icing Sugar
  • Butter

Method

  1. Mix the yeast in a little of the warm milk.
  2. Put flour in large bowl, mix the yeast and egg in to the flour.
  3. Add the rest of the warm milk to mixing well to avoid lumps. Add a pinch of salt.
  4. Cover tea towel and leave in rise at warm place for 45-60 mins.
  5. Heat the pan, melting a little butter, the batter wont stick to the pan. Pour about a spoonful of batter.
  6. Turn the Poffertjes with a fork as soon as bubbles seem on the nice brown crispy of the soft batter.
  7. Serve your Poffertjes with icing sugar and some butter. Yum will melt into deliciousness.
