Make a baking dish

Ingredients

  • 4 slices brown bread
  • Large onion
  • 30gr.butter
  • 500gr. Mince meat
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 Tbsp curry powder (Garam masala)
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground clove
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 Bay leaves

Method

  1. Preheat oven 180, greased shallow baking dish.
  2. Soak bread in little milk (from 1 cup milk).
  3. Melt butter + sautee diced onions (till translucent) with garlic and ginger.
  4. Add vinegar, raisins + rest of (4) spices + salt, keep stirring until well combined for 2 mins. Remove from the stove.
  5. Squeezed bread from milk (reserve milk) crumbled bread, 1 beaten egg and meat in onion mixture, mix WELL.
  6. Place in greased dish, press down with the back of tablespoon.
  7. Beat 2 eggs with milk + reserved milk (from soaking bread), salt + pepper.
  8. Pour gently over the meat mixture.
  9. Place 4 bay leaves on top.
  10. Bake in oven for 40 - 50mins or until top turn golden brown.
