Beef and Green Peppers

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of cornflour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons soya sauce
  • 500g beef (schnitzel or thinly sliced rump steak)
  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Method

  1. Slice onion, green peppers and beef.
  2. Heat pan on high with the oil and add the beef in batches stirring until just browned. Remove from heat and set aside in a bowl.
  3. Place the onion in the hot frying pan and fry till onion starts to soften. Add green pepper and ginger and garlic cook a further 2 mins.
  4. Dissolve the cornflour in the water and add to the pan, stirring until the water thickens. Add the soya sauce.
  5. Add the browned beef back and stir to heat through. Season well with lots of pepper.
